Plain-language summary

SIGIDO is a private, developmental movement-analysis platform. It processes performance video and pose information to provide confidence-aware training feedback and facilitate independent coach review. SIGIDO does not sell personal information, serve targeted advertising, or use movement data for identity recognition.

SIGIDO (“SIGIDO,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) respects participant privacy. This Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect information when people use the SIGIDO Services. By using the Services, you agree to the practices described here, subject to rights that cannot be waived under applicable law.

1. Who we are and scope

This Policy applies to the SIGIDO pilot website, mobile web experience, live capture, recorded review, multi-performer review, video comparison, Technique Lab, My Reviews, Coach Portal, Validation Console, and administration tools (collectively, “SIGIDO,” “the Platform,” “we,” or “us”). SIGIDO is currently a limited pilot operated by the SIGIDO project administrator. Contact the administrator through the contact information supplied with your pilot invitation or through your participating coach or organization.

2. SIGIDO's purpose

SIGIDO helps athletes and coaches examine martial-arts movement— including Taegeuk poomsae and individual techniques—using private video analysis, pose estimation, phase segmentation, slow-motion review, movement guidance, confidence measures, and coach feedback. Automated results are developmental training aids. They are not official competition scores, medical advice, safety certification, or a substitute for a qualified instructor.

3. Information we collect

  • Account and access information: username, display name, role, password hash, sign-in timestamps, security lockout status, and short-lived authenticated-session records. SIGIDO does not store readable account passwords.
  • Performance content: videos you upload or record, selected form or technique, performer labels, camera view, side, target height, and other details you provide. Camera access occurs only after browser permission. SIGIDO currently requests video without microphone audio for its capture workflows.
  • Movement-analysis information: raw and refined pose landmarks, joint positions and angles, phase boundaries, movement clips, timing, reliability and confidence values, similarity measures, deductions, scores, and generated guidance. Although SIGIDO does not use this information to identify a person, some laws may treat body- or movement-derived information as biometric or sensitive information.
  • Coach and validation information: annotations, correctness classifications, notes, clip boundaries, independent reviews, adjudication decisions, reference approvals, and audit history.
  • Operational diagnostics: limited camera, connection, upload, browser, and analysis events needed to detect failures. These diagnostics exclude video frames, passwords, pairing secrets, and credentials.
  • Video-upload audit information: the signed-in account email, connection IP address, upload timestamp, workflow, source filename, file size, and processing status. This information is restricted to authorized administrators and is used for security, support, abuse prevention, and upload accountability. An IP address may be shared, dynamic, proxied, or routed through a VPN and is not treated as definitive proof of a person's identity.
  • Page and video analytics: SIGIDO does not currently collect optional page-view or video-view analytics. Historical analytics previously authorized by a user remain subject to the 30-day retention period. Essential operational diagnostics continue as described above.
  • Browser-only information: a pseudonymous diagnostic identifier and some unfinished comparison drafts may be stored locally in your browser. Clearing browser storage can remove them.

4. How we use information

We use the information described above to:

  • provide capture, upload, analysis, comparison, and review;
  • generate movement-specific, confidence-aware feedback;
  • route submitted performances to authorized coaches;
  • support independent review, adjudication, and participant results;
  • secure accounts and prevent unauthorized access or abuse;
  • diagnose reliability, compatibility, upload, and connectivity issues;
  • build or evaluate controlled reference libraries and models only where the applicable consent and review workflow permits it; and
  • comply with law and protect the Platform and its users.

Automated outputs do not make legal or similarly significant decisions about participants. A coach can independently review and correct movement results.

5. User-generated content and authorization

By uploading, recording, pairing, or submitting any video, image, audio, annotation, feedback, label, or other information to SIGIDO, you confirm that you own the content or have obtained all permissions necessary to authorize its complete use by SIGIDO for the purposes described in this Policy and the Terms of Use. This authorization permits SIGIDO to host, copy, process, analyze, edit, transform, annotate, combine, display, reproduce, and create derived data or materials from submitted content for Platform operation, coach review, validation, research, product development, reference-library development, model training and evaluation, quality assurance, documentation, demonstrations, and promotion of SIGIDO, in any media or technology now known or later developed. Subject to applicable law, SIGIDO may carry out these uses without payment, royalties, attribution, further approval, accounting, or additional notice.

This authorization includes pose landmarks, movement clips, measurements, scores, confidence values, coach annotations, and de-identified or aggregated outputs derived from submitted content. SIGIDO may share content with authorized reviewers and service providers as needed for these purposes. SIGIDO will handle identifiable content in accordance with this Policy and applicable law and will not sell personal information. You must not submit content if you lack the performer, parent or guardian, venue, event, copyright, or other authorization required for these uses.

SIGIDO may retain and use de-identified or aggregated data, model weights, derived measurements, scoring and pose-feature structures, approved versioned datasets, model improvements, reports, and other Platform-generated outputs on a perpetual and irrevocable basis to the fullest extent permitted by law. These rights survive closure of an account or removal of source content where an individual contribution cannot reasonably be separated from a model, aggregate, research result, demonstration, or previously created material.

6. Video, image, and reference submissions

A submitted performance is not automatically treated as an approved reference. Technique Lab references require the configured consent, independent reviews, and adjudication before they become eligible for a controlled, versioned reference set. Coach corrections and approved de-identified pose features may be used to evaluate or improve SIGIDO. Source video and athlete labels are excluded from normalized model-feature exports unless a separate, explicit authorization says otherwise.

7. Camera, WebRTC, and operational technology

When you pair a phone or another camera, video may travel directly between the paired browsers through WebRTC. Cloudflare STUN and, when needed, time-limited TURN relay credentials help establish that connection. Pairing secrets expire. Network relays transport data; they do not change SIGIDO's purpose for processing it.

8. Sharing and disclosure of information

We disclose information only as needed:

  • to the participant and authorized coaches, validators, or administrators involved in the selected review workflow;
  • to infrastructure providers that host or transmit the Platform, including Google Cloud and Cloudflare, under their applicable service terms and safeguards;
  • to comply with law, court process, or a valid government request; or
  • to protect users, enforce the Terms of Use, investigate abuse, or address a security incident.

SIGIDO does not sell personal information or movement data, does not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and does not run targeted advertising.

9. Data retention and deletion

Operational diagnostics and historical optional analytics are configured for a maximum 30-day retention period. Ordinary uploaded videos are configured for a 30-day retention period unless they remain needed for an active coach-review, comparison, approved reference, audit, security, or legal purpose. Coach-review records and approved, versioned reference cases may be retained longer to preserve review integrity and reproducibility. Administrators can permanently remove analytics and diagnostics without deleting videos or coach records. Authorized session deletion removes the session's stored artifacts and database record, subject to backups, legal obligations, and protected versioned datasets.

10. Your privacy rights

  • Decline camera permission and use an upload workflow instead.
  • Do not submit a performance for coach or reference review.
  • Ask the SIGIDO pilot administrator to provide access to, correct, export, or delete applicable personal information, or to restrict or object to its processing.
  • Withdraw consent for future processing where consent is the basis; withdrawal does not invalidate processing already completed.

Applicable law may provide additional rights, including rights to know, correct, delete, restrict, object, receive a portable copy, and receive equal service for exercising privacy rights. We may verify a request before acting and may retain information where an exception applies.

11. Children's privacy and supervised athletes

SIGIDO is not directed to children under 13 for independent use. A child under 13 may participate only through an authorized school, club, coach, parent, or guardian after the operator has provided the required notice and obtained verifiable parental or guardian consent. Minors must use SIGIDO under adult supervision and with all performer permissions required by local law. Do not upload a child's video if you lack authority to do so. Contact the pilot administrator to report an unauthorized submission so it can be investigated and deleted where required.

12. Data security

SIGIDO uses access controls, private object storage, encrypted transport, hashed credentials and pseudonymous analytics network identifiers, expiring sessions, role-based review access, and administrator-restricted upload audit records. No system is completely secure, so participants should use unique passwords and protect shared-device sessions. Infrastructure may process information in the United States or other locations where service providers operate, subject to applicable transfer safeguards.

13. Regional privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to know the categories and specific pieces of personal information collected, request deletion, correct inaccurate information, limit certain uses of sensitive information, object to processing, receive a portable copy, opt out of qualifying sale or sharing, and receive non-discriminatory service for exercising privacy rights. SIGIDO does not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. Requests may require identity verification.

14. International processing

Information may be processed in locations where SIGIDO and its authorized service providers operate. Where required, SIGIDO will use applicable contractual or other safeguards for international transfers. Users may also have rights through their local data-protection authority.

15. Third-party services and links

SIGIDO uses infrastructure and connectivity services such as Google Cloud and Cloudflare. Their processing is governed by applicable agreements and privacy terms. Links to an external website do not make SIGIDO responsible for that website's content, security, or privacy practices. Review the third party's policy before providing it with information.

16. Service communications and browser signals

SIGIDO may provide account, security, coach-review, analysis-status, and policy notices needed to operate the Services. The current pilot does not send advertising newsletters. Because browser “Do Not Track” signals do not have a consistent legal or technical standard, SIGIDO does not currently respond to them as a separate mechanism. SIGIDO does not sell personal information or use cross-site behavioral advertising.

17. Changes to this Privacy Policy

This Policy can and will be revised as SIGIDO's features, uses, technology, service providers, and legal obligations develop. The effective date above will change when the Policy is updated. Material changes will be communicated through the Platform or pilot channel, and continued use after an updated Policy takes effect constitutes acceptance to the extent permitted by law. Where applicable law requires new notice or consent for a new use, SIGIDO will obtain it.
